Welcome to STAN.
These Terms of Service govern your access to and use of the STAN app, followstan.com and related services provided by STAN.
By creating an account, accessing or using STAN, you agree to these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy.
1. About STAN
STAN is a platform for discovering and sharing recommendations for restaurants, cafés, bakeries, bars and other places.
Our goal is to help people discover places through recommendations and experiences shared by locals and other users.

2. Using STAN
You may use STAN to discover places, create and share recommendations, rate places, create Trails, save places and use other features made available through the platform.
You agree to use STAN lawfully and responsibly.
You must not use STAN to:
• Publish unlawful, threatening, discriminatory, fraudulent or abusive content
• Harass other users or businesses
• Post deliberately false or misleading reviews
• Manipulate ratings, recommendations or other platform activity
• Impersonate another person or organisation
• Collect information about other users without permission
• Attempt to interfere with the security or operation of STAN
• Use automated systems to scrape or extract data without our permission
• Use STAN for unlawful commercial or promotional activities
We reserve the right to remove content or restrict accounts that violate these Terms.
3. Your account
Some STAN features require you to create an account.
You are responsible for providing accurate information and maintaining the security of your account.
You are responsible for activity performed through your account unless the activity results from circumstances for which you are not responsible.

4. Recommendations and reviews
STAN is built around recommendations and experiences shared by people.
Reviews, ratings and recommendations represent the opinions and experiences of individual users. STAN does not guarantee that a recommendation will reflect your own experience.
When posting a review or recommendation, you should base it on a genuine experience with the place and provide information that is fair and relevant.
Businesses cannot require STAN to remove a genuine negative review simply because they disagree with it. However, we may remove content that violates these Terms, applicable law or our content standards.
5. User content
You retain ownership of content you create and upload to STAN, including reviews, recommendations, Trails, comments, photographs and other original content.
By publishing content on STAN, you grant STAN a non exclusive, worldwide, royalty free licence to host, store, reproduce, display, distribute and use that content as necessary to operate, develop and promote STAN.
This licence allows us, for example, to display your recommendation within the app or feature public STAN content in connection with the service.
You confirm that you have the necessary rights to content you upload and that your content does not infringe the rights of others.
You may delete your content where this functionality is available. Certain copies may remain temporarily in backups or where retention is legally required.
6. Trails
STAN may allow users to create collections or routes of recommended places known as Trails.
Trails may be private, shared with selected users or publicly available depending on the functionality and settings available.
You are responsible for the content you include in Trails you create.
7. Location based features
STAN may use your location, with your permission, to provide nearby recommendations, maps and other location based features.
Distances, walking times, directions and location information should be considered estimates.
You remain responsible for your own safety and should follow official signs, traffic rules, opening restrictions and local conditions when travelling to a place recommended through STAN.
8. Information about places
STAN may display information about restaurants, cafés, bakeries, bars and other businesses, including addresses, opening hours, categories, images, descriptions and other information.
We aim to provide useful and accurate information, but businesses change.
Opening hours, menus, prices, availability, addresses and other details may therefore be inaccurate or outdated.
You should confirm important information directly with the relevant business before visiting.
Unless explicitly stated otherwise, the businesses displayed on STAN are independent third parties and are not owned, operated or endorsed by STAN.
9. STAN+ and paid services
STAN may offer optional paid subscriptions or features, including STAN+.
The price, billing period and features included in a subscription will be displayed before purchase.
Subscriptions may automatically renew unless cancelled before the next renewal date.
You can cancel a subscription at any time. Cancellation normally takes effect at the end of your current paid billing period.
If you purchase STAN+ through the Apple App Store, Google Play or another third party platform, payments, renewals, cancellations and refunds may also be subject to that platform’s terms and policies.
10. Refunds and consumer rights
Refund eligibility depends on how and where your purchase was made.
Purchases made through third party app marketplaces may need to be refunded directly through the relevant marketplace.
Nothing in these Terms limits mandatory consumer rights available to you under Danish or EU law.
Where legally required, information regarding withdrawal rights, cancellation and refunds will be provided as part of the purchasing process.
11. Sponsored content and partnerships
STAN may work with brands, destinations, hotels or other commercial partners.
Where content or recommendations are sponsored or form part of a commercial partnership, we will identify this where required by applicable law.
Commercial partnerships do not give businesses the right to manipulate independent user reviews or ratings.
12. Intellectual property
The STAN name, logo, design, software, interface, branding and other materials created by STAN are owned by or licensed to STAN and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws.
You may not copy, reproduce, distribute, modify or commercially exploit STAN’s intellectual property without our permission.
Content belonging to users and third parties remains subject to their respective rights.
13. Third party services
STAN may contain links to or integrate with third party websites, maps, booking services, payment providers, social media platforms and other services.
These services are operated independently from STAN and may have their own terms and privacy policies.
STAN is not responsible for the availability, content, products or services provided by third parties.
14. Availability of STAN
We aim to keep STAN available and functioning reliably, but we cannot guarantee uninterrupted access.
We may temporarily suspend, modify or restrict parts of the service for maintenance, security, technical or operational reasons.
We may also introduce, modify or discontinue features as STAN develops.
15. Suspension and termination
We may restrict, suspend or terminate access to STAN if you seriously or repeatedly violate these Terms, misuse the platform, create security risks or engage in unlawful activity.
Where appropriate and legally required, we will provide notice or an opportunity to address the issue.
You may stop using STAN at any time and may request deletion of your account.
16. Disclaimer
STAN is a discovery and recommendation platform.
We do not operate the restaurants, cafés, bakeries, bars or other businesses featured on the platform.
Experiences, food quality, service, prices, opening hours and availability are controlled by the individual businesses and may change.
Recommendations and ratings provided by users are subjective opinions and should not be considered guarantees by STAN.
17. Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by applicable law, STAN is not responsible for indirect or consequential losses resulting from your use of the platform or your experience with independent third party businesses.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability where such exclusion or limitation is prohibited by applicable law.
Your statutory consumer rights remain unaffected.

19. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms as STAN develops, when we introduce new functionality or when legal requirements change.
If changes materially affect your rights or use of STAN, we will provide appropriate notice where required.

20. Governing law
These Terms are governed by Danish law, without depriving consumers of mandatory protections available under the laws applicable to them.
Any dispute should initially be addressed by contacting us so we can attempt to resolve the matter.
Nothing in these Terms limits any mandatory rights regarding jurisdiction or consumer dispute resolution.
